An antique county map of Glamorganshire from "Theatre of Great Britaine" by John Speed, published by Roger Rea the Elder and Younger in 1662. This resulted in many copies of the atlas being destroyed in the Great Fire in 1666 - hence a rare edition. Later hand colouring. English text to verso. Some ingrained staining to left vertical margin and likewise on verso. Otherwise nice map with good margins.

This rare and curious antique map of 'Glamorgan' was produced from the research of Aristide Michael Perrot and engraved by Adrien Migneret, was published in G. B. Depping's L'Angleterre. Ou Description Historique et Topographique Du Royaume Royaume Uni De La Grande-Bretagn in 1823. This map, a copper plate engraving, has original outline hand colouring. Some maps show a single county, but more often two or more counties were joined to form a group which is similar in industry, agriculture and terrain.

This miniature antique county map of Glamorganshire was produced as a playing card map by Robert Morden in 1676. This map together with the whole of Mordens pack of cards were republished in 1773 by H. Turpin in a book entitled " A Brief Description of England and Wales". Original outline colour and is trimmed to the plate edge and mounted, as issued. Very good impression. Clean condition.
