A very rare antique map of South Wales from "Speed's Maps Epitomiz'd" published in 1685 by Richard Blome. Most of this work was engraved by Wenceslaus Hollar, Richard Palmer, Francis Lamb, Upper left corner is a wreath round which is wound a ribbon, and having a blank cartouche and eight blank shields attached. and at bottom l of c : W.Hollar fecit. (Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677). The map extends from the Bristol Channell in the South as far north as Aberdouye on the coast. In a compartment in lower left corner is a Scale of English miles to the right of which are two ships sailing to right. Trimmed to printed border all round and two vertical folds. Evidence of old colour in blank shields.
