An antique map of central Europe during ancient times with ancient place names. Engraved by Sutton Nicholls, is from an edition of "A New Sett of Maps Both of Antient and Present Geography" published by Edward Wells M.A. Oxon, in 1743. The Danube River is prominently shown and also identified as "the boundary's of the Roman Empire." The origins of various tribes are shown including the Ingaevones, the Irminones, and the Istaevones. The title cartouche features putti and a dedication to Prince William, Duke of Glocester. Extending from Denmark to northern Italy. Includes Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria.
