An original Plan of that part of the River Calder that lies between Sowerby Bridge and Halifax Brooksmouth in the County of York Survd in Jan 1758 by John Eyes. An antique plan engraved by J. Evans, Liverpool. The need for more effective means of transportation resulted in the construction of canals and a network of turnpike roads. Circa 1758 with later hand colouring. Table on right side gives details of "Rise of Water from Halifax Brooks mouth to the Surface of the Water under Sowerby Bridge in Jan. 1758".
