An antique plan of "Attack of the French Entrenched Position on the Nivelle. 10th November, 1813." by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original colouring. The plan shows the positions of the Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery of the French and the Allied British . The Battle occurred very near the end of the Peninsular War and took place in front of the River Nivelle after the Allied siege of San Sebastian.
