An antique plan of "Battle of Albuera 16th May, 1811" by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original colouring. The plan shows the positions of the Allied English, Portugese & Spanish and the French Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery. Both sides suffered heavily in the ensuing struggle and the French finally withdrew on 18 May. The result was indecisive.
