An antique plan of "Battle of Alexandria 21st March, 1801" by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original hand colouring. The Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery of the British and French. The battle took place near the ruins of Nicopolis. Following their victory, the British advanced upon Alexandria and laid siege to it. The French garrison surrendered on 2 September 1801. Sir Ralph Abercromby received a mortal wound in the battle.
