An antique plan of "Battle of Hanau 30th October, 1813" by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original colouring. The plan shows the positions of the French and Bavarian & Austrian Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery. The Battle was a minor battle, but an important tactical victory allowing Napoleon’s army to retreat onto French soil to recover and face the invasion of France.
