An antique plan of "Battle of Trafalgar" by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original colouring. Shows the positions of the British, French and Spanish fleets. Admiral Nelson was outnumbered, with 27 British ships of the line to 33 allied ships. To address this imbalance, Nelson sailed his fleet directly at the allied battle line's flank, hoping to break it into pieces. The ensuing fierce battle resulted in 22 allied ships being lost, while the British lost none. Includes free mounting on request.
