An antique plan of "Battles of Smolensko & Valtelina 17th, 18th and 19th August, 1812" by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original colouring. The plan shows the positions of the French and Russian Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery. The French artillery bombardment burned the city of Smolensk to the ground and the French and allied troops led by Marshal Ney led to a French victory at Valtelina.
