Two antique woodcut engravings and a report of the above Regatta which was held on Thursday 3rd July, 1845 which appeared in "The Illustrated London News" on July 12th, 1845.. The illustration which were engraved from sketches made by Mr N.M. Condy shows the 'Champion' winning with the 'Lily of Devon' disabled. In the distance are seen the Steep Holmes and the Flat Holmes Lighthouses. The second sketch shows the regatta from the sea - the 'Ganymeade', R.Y.S. saluting.
