"Mone Insulae modo Anglesey et Caernaruan..." Published in 'An Atlas of England and Wales' by C. Saxton, 1587, and is the earliest printed map of the counties of Anglesey and Caernarfon. Shows the landscape and settlements as illustrations representing the hills, woodlands, rivers, towns and cities found across the county. Bottom left, Saxton's name on a band around a compass and measuring scale and the Seckford family crest is featured along with its early Latin motto. Has the water mark of the 'bunch of grapes' which is from one of the earliest impressions of the Atlas and contemporary hand colouring. Some surface dirt and overall age toned.
