Mezzotint engraving of a portrait of George Stephenson with facsimile signature. Painted by H. P. Briggs, Esqr: R.A. and engraved by C. Turner, A.R.A. Published by Mr Turner, 50 Warren Street, Fitzroy Square, London. 7 June 1838. Has three marginal tears one extending into image from the middle of the right margin. The paper is cracking along the bottom edge of the image and some flaking of the paper in the bottom margin has occurred. Has previously been laid on linen.
