A caricature by James Gillray, London published by John Miller, Bridge Street and W.Blackwood, Edinburgh. Circa 1820 with later hand colouring. This caricature gives a commentary on the growing burden of taxation that existed in the early 19th century, implemented to fund the ever-increasing expense of war with Napoleonic France.
