Humphrey Llwyds Cambriae Typus, is the earliest printed map to show Wales as a separate country. Compared to a modern map of Wales, there are a few defects and mistakes in the map including the Lleyn peninsula being distorted and bent towards the south, thus making North Wales look so much smaller and Aberdaron look to be due north of Aberayron instead of far to the west of it. The Gower peninsula is not shown. The rivers Rheidol and Ystwyth have their names transposed. This map was published by Jansson 1647 - 1741 with later hand colouring and was printed from the same plate as the fourth state of this map, but with a new title and scale of miles and with the stippling of the sea removed. Printer's crease in bottom left as shown and some faint age toning.
