An antique aquatint engraving by Thomas Rowlanson published by W. Wigstead January 1st, 1800 with later hand colouring. Thomas Rowlandson wrote about visiting an old hotel in Newcastle Emlyn where he saw a dog running inside a wheel which was fixed to a wall which turned the spit in front of the fire.
