Insula Sacra vulgo Holy Island et Farne - An antique map of Holy Island (also known as Lindisfarne) and the Farne Islands. A stretch of the Northumberland coast is also shown with Bamburgh Castle indicated. Map is decorated with strapwork title cartouche and the Royal Arms. It was published in Blaeu's 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' atlas. Spanish text on verso. Circa 1660 with contemporary hand colouring. Old repaired tear beneath the Royal Arms from the right margin extending 13cms into printed area and another repaired tear in top margin. Hence reduced price.
