An antique folding map engraved by Wenceslaus Hollar, and published in VVilliam Burton's "A Commentary on Antoninus, his Itinerary, or Journies of the Romane Empire, so far as it Concerneth Britain...," 1st ed., Thomas Roycroft, 1658. The map shows England sideways with the East coast at the bottom. The Roman Roads are shown from Lemanis (Lympne) and Dubris (Dover) to Blatobulgium (Birrens) and Bremenium (Rochester, Northumberland), showing English place names with their ancient Roman ones. Overall age toned and stain in bottom right margin.
