An outstanding example of part of the first map of the county on a scale of one inch to one mile, and the first of Rocque's county survey. This is one of four sheets. The survey is typical of Rocque, with minute ichnographical detail and fields depicted in a way that allowed land use to be easily ascertained. Published according to Act of Parliament by John Rocque in the Strand, in 1752 with early hand colouring. Overall surface dirt with many repaired tears.
