An antique stipple engraving "Engraved by H.R. COOK from an Original Picture by W. HAINES, For Gifford's History of the War. London Pubd. by Lewis & Oddy Ivy Lane Sep. 1815." In the Peninsular campaign he commanded the 'Fighting Division' in Spain and distinguished himself at Busaco, Fuentes de Onoro, Badajoz, and Vittoria. He was seriously wounded at Quatre Bras and died leading his men to charge at Waterloo.
