Published by J C Bourne, 19 Lamb's Conduit Street, and Ackermann and Co, Strand, London. July 1838. The image shows an embankment under construction. To the right of the image the embankment has been built and a locomotive travels along the tracks towards a bridge. In the centre of the image workers form the embankment. There is a house to the right and a lake or river to the foreground with reeds/rushes at the water edge.
