An antique map of the Franco-German border area, with two inset portraits in top left and lower right corners by Matthias Quad , uncoloured engraved map slight text show through. Latin text on verso. Title cartouche and scale at lower left. Matthaus Quad was a German cartographer based in Cologne, which, at the time was the centre for German cartography. This map is from his Fascilus Geographicus. It was printed by Johannes Bussemacher.
