An antique stipple engraving by Caroline Watson, published by John Boydell, after Gabriel Stuart, published 1 September 1785 Portrait of William Woollett; three-quarters length seated directed to left, wearing a soft gown and turban, working on a plate with the 'Death of Wolfe' propped beside his elbow. Engraved below the image with the title in open letters and 'Born April 15th,, 1735, Died May 23d. William Woollett was one of the most celebrated engravers of his day. Has a worm hole and a worm tract.
