An antique aquatint engraving which was designed and etched by Thomas Rowlandson and Auguste Charles Pugin. Aquatinted by HJill. 'London Pub. 1st March. 1808 at R. Ackermann's Repository of Arts 101, Strand. At this time paupers from outside London apprehended by the authorities could be imprisoned for seven days before being sent back to their own parish.
