An antique line engraving showing the taking of 'The Foudroyant'. The description beneath reads "The Foudroyant, a French Man of War of 84 Guns of 24 & 42 Pounders taken by the 'Monmouth' of 64 Guns of 12 & 24 Pounders wherein the French had 50 Men killed & 150 wounded and the English 30 Men including the Captain killed & 80 wounded. Feb. 28, 1758. Engraved for Clarendons History of England and published late 18th century with later hand colouring.
