An antique plan of the "Siege of Gerona by the French Army of Catalonia May to October, 1809" by Alexander Keith Johnston. F.R.G.S. published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1848 with original colouring. The Siege involved the French Grande Armée's seven-month struggle to conquer the Spanish garrison at Girona. The town held out obstinately until disease and famine compelled it to capitulate on December 12, 1809.
