An antique coloured woodcut engraving which was published on in "The Illustrated London News" November 19th, 1859. An account of this custom is found in the text on the verso which also states that this engraving was prepared from a drawing by a Mr Darley "the well known American artist". Three verses from the old popular ballad "American Taxation" are also included.
