One of the most famous antique maps of Scotland, with an inset of the Orkneys. Published by John Sudbury and George Humbell in 1612 (1st Edition) with later hand colouring, in "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain". It also includes illustrations of James King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Henry Prince of Wales and Ireland, Anne Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland and Charles Duke of York and Albany. In 1652, the Royal Portraits were removed to be replaced with Highlanders and ordinary Scotch folk! The Royal standard too has been removed to be replaced with the Saltire.
