Antique woodcut engravings which were published in "The Illustrated London News" on March 6th, 1875 with later hand colouring. The title of the top engraving is "Waiting for relief outside the workhouse at Merthyr" and the bottom one is "Emigration Agent lecturing in the Temperance Hall at Merthyr.
