This is a rare little antique map of Berkshire, together with distance table engraved by Van Langeren and published by Thomas Jenner in Mathew Simons's "A Direction for the English Traveller" in 1657. This is a reprint of the 1643 edition and the plates are the same except for the fact that the space beneath the maps are filled with a list of the hundreds in three columns and sometimes continued on the verso. The names of the counties and pagination are added above the plates, except Berkshire, where "Bark-shire" is placed below the plate and the page number not given. Two small blemishes as shown. Includes free mounting on request.
