"Dull - wisgoedd Cymru" by Lady Llanover. A very rare complete set of Lady Llanover's costume prints. "Cambrian costumes dedicated to the nobility and gentry of Wales by Augusta Hall (1802-1896)". In 1834, she won a prize for an essay in the eisteddfod in Cardiff, in which she argued that Welsh women should wear traditional clothing. Her essay was illustrated with 13 paintings of the dresses that ladies from various areas of Wales should wear. Many of the prints have some foxing and the margins on print No. 2 has been trimmed as shown.
