An antique county map of the county of Surry engraved by Wenceslaus Hollar from the atlas "England Exactly Described or a Guide to Travellers" by Thomas Taylor. A major addition to the earlier plates is that roads and distances between towns are now included, after the road surveys of John Ogilby. This plate carries the name of Richard Blome in the Title cartouche, and the arms of Sir Richard Onslow are substituted for those of Sir Robert Clayton. Signed by Wenceslaus Hollar (bottom left) and the name of Thomas Taylor appears in the panel of hundreds. Published in 1735. Fine condition.
