An antique county map originally produced by Joshua Archer for William Pinnock's 'Guide to Knowledge' in 1838 when it appeared as white line engraving on a black background. Because of technical difficulties in obtaining a good print, the maps did not prove popular and production was abandoned. Later issues reverted to black on a white background and this map was produced by Thomas Johnson in 1847 with later hand colouring.
