This map is from the 1637 edition. County maps engraved by William Kip and William Hole, and based largely on Saxton's surveys. This is the earliest printed map of Merionethshire.

An antique map of Anglesey, Caernarfon & Merioneth by the brothers Christopher and James Greenwood. Indicates the locations of churches, castles, railways, heaths, turnpike roads, woods and rivers. A delightful vignette of Bangor Cathedral in the bottom right corner. 'Corrected to the present period and published April 1st, 1834' with original hand colouring. Engraved by J. & C. Walker. Verttical centrefold which has been strengthened o the top and bottom on verso. A few repaired tears..

This rare and curious antique map of 'Merioneth and Montgomery' was produced from the research of Aristide Michael Perrot and engraved by Adrien Migneret, was published in G. B. Depping's L'Angleterre. Ou Description Historique et Topographique Du Royaume Royaume Uni De La Grande-Bretagn in 1823. This map, a copper plate engraving, has original outline hand colouring. Some maps show a single county, but more often two or more counties were joined to form a group which is similar in industry, agriculture and terrain.

A good example of Christopher Saxton's plate of Merioneth and Montgomery with additions by Philip Lea. Inset of the town of Montgomery at top right is balanced by Harlech, showing Harlech Castle, at lower left. The sea is stipple engraved and embellished with a ship. The map is also decorated with a distance scale topped by calipers and title cartouche topped with a coat of arms. The plate still bears the name of the original engraver Remigius Hogenbergius.
